Notes Follow Notes – A memoir by John Brandt
After reading the various posts by John Brandt on the Bob Dylan discussion forum ‘Expecting Rain‘ about his recollections of living in Woodstock and becoming friends with Bob Dylan, I was pleasantly surprised to read his latest post: Bob, my neighbour and friend Woodstock CA. 1967
“I have just completed a small book of all my experiences being close friends with the Dylan family in the late 60s.
here are most of my favorite memories… NOTESFOLLOWNOTES.COM I’m sure you will enjoy reading.”
I clicked on his web site
‘Bob Dylan lived very close to my home. This was the time he had disappeared from the public eye. Trying to live a “normal” life, he befriended my family. His friendship with us, shaped my life and the way I look at things.’
For just $2.99 I snapped up a mobi file of Johnny’s memoir which I can’t wait to read on my kindle.
I wanted to read this book so much that I had to put ‘East of Eden’ on the backburner tonight. I just finished ‘Notes Follow Notes’. I found this short memoir insightful, heartfelt and quite educational; fully immersing the reader into the innocent life of a preteen come teen living in Woodstock and getting to know the much adored Mr Bob Dylan. I really admire the humility in his voice as he recalls these marvelous encounters with such childlike clarity. I can’t wait to read more about Johnny’s musical and latter life experiences.
